his family banished to the surface despite hailing from noble orzammar blood, darcy was never fond of the carta life but resigned himself to it. he vowed never to stoop to the lows other smugglers did. he kept his hands clean and his customers were a select clientele of wealthy free-marchers and orlesians. he made good money and a respectable name for himself, as well as acquiring a taste for the finer things in life. he tends to abhor violence, and while no lover of the templars, disliked the mage rebellion for the way the war tore across ferelden. all he wants is peace. he admires dorian for his reformist goals, as well as relates deeply to his academic mind, preferring books to fighting himself. he’s also a little occupied with his own looks, considered uncommonly handsome for a dwarf, which he tends to credit towards surfacer tastes and his mother being one-half human.

his mother told him he came from the womb gray-haired as an old man, and howling at the world like a feral wolf. his nickname from that story stuck fast, and it’s the name he chose for himself when he finally realized he was a boy and was uncomfortable with the one his mother gave him at birth. he trained as a spy and assassin with clan lavellan, and was sent to invisibly observe the goings-on at the conclave. he tends to be reserved and secretive, only trusting few—but eventully, solas wins his heart, and dorian, cole, and leliana win his close friendship. when solas leaves him, he nurses that broken heart and leaves for tevinter to support dorian on his quest for reform. when it comes down to it though, fen’dorf supports solas as much as he wants to fight him, because they’re far too similar; he would also watch the world burn to save those he loves, which means he’d do it for solas, just as easily.

born “lathin” to clan lavellan, and often called “da’lath” by those he held dear, din’anin changed his name after a mistake lead to most of his clan being destroyed, most notably, his parents. with very few clan members remaining, they functioned as mercenary band known for their ability to accomplish assassinations, easily flying under the radar as just another nomadic dalish clan. din’anin holds a lot of insecurity about his purpose in life, viewing himself as an instrument of death, and incapable of holding love (as his given name meant,) ever since the death of his clan. meeting bull brings conflicting feelings, as his interest immediately runs deeper than purely physical, but neither of them know how to navigate anything more, and he struggles to feel as though he’s allowed anything else. slowly, though, bull eases him into the comfort of being loved, and feeling like his return of it is worth something.
